If you've subscribed to the newsletter or followed on twitter (or checked out the Events page!), you've at least had a heads-up that it was coming. For those who didn't know: I'm sorry.
This was my first larger-scale Calgary event, brought to you by the Comic and Entertainment Expo folks. All I have to compare it to as a vendor is the Edmonton Expo I did back in September, so with that as my reference, I think that this run turned out very well. More books left the table, more people stopped to chat, and I'm already re-visiting some familiar faces from my last event!
Unfortunately, you'll have to wait for the December newsletter for all of the details, but I will say that this is something I hope to return to do. It's also super motivating for getting a new book done sooner rather than later.
As luck would have it, I'm battling at this very moment with a story idea that crept up on me this morning. I'm ridiculously behind in my NaNoWriMo as it is. What do you think the chances are that I can just power write this new idea in one week? I don't even know if it's enough story to be novel-length, but damn has it got me distracted today!
New updates on many things are on the horizon, so if you still haven't yet, sign up to be on the mailing list! I'll be looking for some reader participation in the next issue! And who knows, by then I may have decided what I'm doing with today's spontaneous story idea (think Supernatural meets Beauty and the Beast).
Best of luck to those still writing against the NaNo clock! Godspeed noble WriMo's!
