If you’re reading this, it must mean that you’ve at least picked up one of my books – that or you know me in real life and I peer pressured you into doing so…
Either way, you should already have an idea what this whole website/blog thing is about.
If by some reason you have aimlessly stumbled upon this site, welcome! My name is Ashley, and I am a novelist! I have been writing since I was ten years old (though the quality may have been questionable), and decided to start taking this day-dreamer hobby a little more seriously after wowing a grade 8 English class with a short story assignment – which went on to win a short story contest and be published 2 years later. I challenged myself with writing longer and longer stories, until I discovered that I had crossed into the world of noveling. While I have numerous stories, both complete and in-complete, lurking around various notebooks, floppy disks, and cds, I finally came upon an idea that seemed mature enough to be taken seriously. As I began university, I started to pen Galen. As it goes, I could only get so far before the first year fears made me put my half-novel on the dusty shelf, but as I neared graduation, I knew it was time to finish what I had started. Despite this estrangement, I quickly remembered why I fell in love with this story and have been determined to give it the life that it deserves.
On top of that, I was peer-pressured into National Novel Writing Month, NaNoWriMo. It was a frightening yet completely wonderful experience that reassured me that I can push myself to not only do, but to do well.
So here is where I will share my work and experiences with those who care to read about them. Hopefully you get some joy or inspiration out of it.
