I've somehow pulled together over 2,200 words tonight, but it feels like I must have been trudging through at least 4,000. I've earned my advent treat for today, but I'm so tired that I don't even want it. Sleep is enough for me.
...It's going to be a long week...
Part of what made it so long is that I had to try three different time with three different characters to get my next section started. I wanted to flip perspective because I've got too big of a world to explore with just Hatfield alone. But nothing I was trying could get a second sentence to form. I was trying to hard to transition with the next scene I knew I needed Hatfield for that I was clearly only getting some dull filler. Finally I threw my hands up into the air and just decided to throw down a character I actually wanted to meet. Worked like a charm! Even though I wasn't planning on introducing her yet, I knew that I would love getting to know her better. She was one of my favourites while I was planning, and now seeing all of her spunk, I can tell that she's a winner! It's only day 3 and I already have a few favourite lines coming through.
But now I just can't see straight so I need to call it a night. Here's hoping that I can get better at this balancing act!
